On Wednesday, September 15, 2010, we said good-bye to Schloeben, and Wolfgang drove us to the train station, where we would take the ICE train from Jena to Mainz Hauptbahnhof. We said our good-byes to Wolfgang, Kerstin, and Anja at the train station in Jena. We hope to see them in the USA soon!
Winfried was at the train station in Mainz to pick us up. His wife, Roswitha, was working that day. So Winfried brought us to their home in Bischofsheim, where we were also greeted by Sabine's and Daniel's dogs, Vishnu (Tibetan Terrior) and Vinja, who is new to us, and what we would call a small Greyhound, but she's some sort of Spanish breed. (Sabine, what is she?)
Karen was amused to see Wnfried's and Roswitha's Crocs shoes (no, this is not an advertisement for Crocs; I've never owned a pair, though maybe I should?!?!) But it was great because Karen could photograph them to share with Anja, who had thought we were referring to "clogs" when we spoke of them during our stay with her. So Anja, here are Crocs!
Roswitha had a delicious Kuchen (cake) waiting for us to have for a refreshment while she was at work. It was so good!
